Prior to your shoot
Working with a wide range of clients the one thing I have learned is that it is important to manage expectations and create a clear picture (ignore the pun) of what is going to happen on the day.
I normally prefer to have a zoom or phone consultation with my clients to talk through the process, discuss the desired outcomes and ensure that on arrival we can dive straight in.
On the day
I like to arrive a little early to my shoots just so I can get in and be settled - as well as allowing me a chance to set up equipment that might be needed. I'll have a brief discussion with the organiser to ensure that everything we have discussed previously is still going ahead, as well as picking up any last minute changes to the schedule.
The nature of the shoot will essentially inform how the day will go. If it involves people I'll either be very visible and talking with them, engaging and instructing to get the very best shots possible, or I'll be sneaking around getting candid moments - whatever the brief requires. If its a shoot that requires an escort for safety / safeguarding reasons then I'll take your lead and work as instructed.
After the shoot
So there is typically a 2 week minimum wait time for jobs, unless the service is expedited. This allows time for a culling process whereby images go through a quality control - looking at composition and readability etc. Anything that doesn't meet the expected standard is removed.
We then get into the editing process, whereby everything is looked at in terms of final outcome, styling, colour matching, lighting, touch ups etc. For headshots, a general quick edit is applied for image selection then final details are done once images have been chosen by client.
Images are transferred either directly to you via an email link, or can be uploaded to your secure portal if you have one.
